Arturo (or Arthur) Rhodes the surrealist painter moved to Deya Mallorca in 1980. He settled in this small mountain village in an artistic community founded by Robert Graves. He has been working on collections of mystical enquiries with strong connections to symbolism and the art of the past. He paints in the glaze technique of the old masters transposing the classical oil techniques to modern acrylic colours. Still life, landscape and the human form appear in his art. Humour sometimes plays its part too.
